Easy and Delicious Family Passover Recipes - Installment Seven: Chocolate Balls

In this week before Passover, we are featuring favorite Passover recipes shared by Akiba-Schechter families, all of which have been collected by Mrs. Brackman's 3rd/4th graders in this beautiful Passover cookbook.

Today's recipe comes from the Ezra Family:

Chocolate Balls

Ingredients:

2 cups matzah meal or ground up matzah

100 grams margarine

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup milk

1/3 cup sweet wine or grape juice (more if needed)

1 pinch salt

1 cup coconut flakes for rolling

How to:

Melt the margarine, add sugar, cocoa, milk, wine, salt, and mix. Then add the matzah meal. If the mixture is too dry, add a few spoonfuls (one at a time) of wine.

Form into golf ball sized balls. Make sure to pack them tightly, so they should not crumble or stick. If they are too dry, add wine. If they are too wet, add matzah meal.

Immediately roll the ball in coconut, repeat until all of the batter is used up.

Store in the fridge and serve.
