A Tree Grows in our Stairway...

... sporting beautifully wrought-wire nests and colorful clay and model magic eggs, created by  the Afternoon Explorers (four-year-olds) as part of their year-long study of birds.

Not only are these incredible works of art, but they are examples of how our preschool teachers believe children are capable and competent in the work that they do. The children were given the task of creating a nest that would successfully hold at least one egg.  Through trial and error and problem solving, each child created a nest that would safely hold an egg. The children then described the experience to teachers and their dictated observations are on view as well.
